On the heels of successful gatherings in the East and the Midwest, the Bunko Breakfast Brigade heads to the great Northwest.
If you're in Seattle, join us on Tuesday night July 29 at 6pm for the next one. (No, it's not a breakfast per se, but I'm committed to alliteration.) The location is the Polar Bar of the brand-spanking-new Arctic Club Hotel -- 700 Third Avenue at Cherry Street.
These gatherings are extremely informal and typically last about an hour. Here's what we do:
1. We get something to drink -- the first round's on me -- then we sit down.
2. I talk a little (maybe 5 or 10 minutes) about the book.
3. Then I take questions and open things up for discussion. I'll come armed with a few questions of my own. But otherwise the conversations have been very free-form and quite interesting.
4. We usually get about 10 or 12 attendees. And some people have told me, very gingerly, that the real advantage of the Breakfasts has been the chance to meet the others who've shown up.
5. Of course, everybody receives a free set of Johnny Bunko chopsticks.
Let me also answer two questions that always come up. Yes, you can bring people. Yes, you can blog about the Breakfast, video it, stick it on YouTube, etc.)
If you have other questions, just email me directly. See you in Seattle.
